Die Zeichnung von Alessandro Mantovani (1814-1892) aus dem Jahr 1868 zeigt eine bergige Landschaft mit einer mittelalterlichen mit Festung an der linken Bildseite. Im Vordergrund erstreckt sich ein Platz, von wo aus links eine Trepe zur Festung führt. Auf dem Platz liegen Reste antiker römischer Architektur, u.a. Fragmente von Säulen und römischen Gewölben.
